From the Water

All of our charters are bareboat charters — a licensed captain is required to operate the vessel. We do not permit self-driving under any circumstances. At the time of booking, we will provide you with a list of qualified, vetted captains you can hire for your charter. Captain fees are separate from the boat rental rate.

Absolutely — we are 100% BYOB friendly! You're welcome to bring your own beverages, food, and snacks. Each boat is equipped with onboard coolers to keep your drinks cold. We also partner with dockside delivery services so you can arrange catering or food delivery directly to the boat before departure. Coolers are available for rent if needed.

All of our boats accommodate up to 13 guests. Our fleet ranges from 32 to 41 feet, so there's plenty of room for your group to spread out and enjoy the experience.

All charters depart from D Dock at 31st Street Harbor, located at 3155 S DuSable Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60616. We recommend arriving 45–60 minutes before your scheduled departure time to get settled, load your supplies, and meet your captain. For holiday weekends and special events, plan to arrive 60 minutes early.

We strongly recommend using a ride-sharing or car service (Uber, Lyft) for the easiest experience — drop-off is right at the harbor entrance. If you prefer to drive, parking passes are available for $50. Street parking in the surrounding area is also available but can be limited during peak summer weekends.

Our minimum rental period is 3 hours. Most guests book 4–6 hours to fully enjoy the experience. We offer flexible durations to fit your schedule and budget.

Safety is our top priority. If weather conditions are unsafe for boating, we will work with you to reschedule your charter at no additional charge. Light rain typically does not affect charters, but severe weather, high winds, or lightning will result in a reschedule.

Yes — all boats in our fleet are equipped with onboard bathrooms. Every vessel from our 32-foot standard fleet to our 41-foot flagship is fitted with bathroom facilities for your comfort.

We understand plans change. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Our cancellation policy details are provided at the time of booking. Weather-related cancellations are always handled with full flexibility.
